Column of the year: Run it up, Houston Nutt

"Run it up, Houston Nutt. Give Arkansas and its fans a beating they'll never forget -- even if it won't be half the beating they deserve. "

Nutt should run score up as payback toward Arkansas' nuts

awesome, but he forgot to mention the moron who paid for the plane pulling a banner over home games that said, "Hog fans deserve better than Nutt."

So, I take it, y'all are more fans of Nutt than the UA?

I only care about one team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. I can't envision ever wanting them to lose a game. Ever.

I went to college at the UA because of the Razorbacks. No one can question my fan cred. But right is right and wrong is wrong. And I can't go with wrong.

Weren't you appalled last year that some were rooting for Arkansas to lose so Nutt would be fired? What's the difference between that and this?

Isn't rooting against "your" team for any reason traitorous?

I wasn't appalled that they wanted Arkansas to lose to help them on their crusade to fire Nutt. There were a ton of worse things going on to overshadow that. I guess it all comes down to motive. "They" had a vile campaign of hate waging against a guy who's main crime was doing his best to win games. I don't want Petrino fired. I want Nutt to win this game because I cannot be a part of this mob anymore and what they did to the guy was terrible. The CBS columnist summed up a lot of my thoughts about it.

I agree, and I've only decided to spend the money to order the pay per-view game so I can gleefully root for Ole Miss. A team, who I hated as a child, and can still recall how my hate seethed after the infamous missed call on a field goal by a soon to be NFL referee, costing the U of A a precious victory against the Rebels. For the life of me, I can't believe now I dwelled on that all these years or for that matter The Great Shootout. Fact is, Street threw a brilliant pass to a covered receiver, and the defense should have been in a flex looking for something like that.

Fact is, I feel weird now when I cross in to Benton County instead of happy, so I never go any more. Like crossing in to a foreign country. A mean one at that.

Fact is, Houston won't have to tell his players anything before the game. They'll probably ask him and the coaches to step out so that can look in each others eyes and cement what they plan to do. A bond they will take on the field oblivious to the booing.

I will watch intently having shed a life time of brain washing and anguish over a team, who has mostly never done anything but break hearts, bully the state, and roll in it's red slop of greed.

It feels good to finally have come to my senses. Course the whole carnival of the past few years helped me do so.

Now, if I could just do the same with the Cubs.

Anything's possible!

Darren McFadden, an ardent Nutt supporter last season, disagrees with both of you.

He's rooting for Arkansas to beat OM.
