This Oklahoma-Texas game reminds me of the Rose Bowl in 2006 when Vince Young's run into the end zone beat USC. The win by six-point underdog Texas gave Chris Baldwin enough bonus points to launch ahead of Robert Shields, John Vratsinas, and Broderick Smith to win the pool. Sorry to bring up those bad memories from that game, but Longhorn superfan Sal Chavarria probably launches into that "Texas Fight" song along with his fellow UT graduates Alex Orsini and Ethan Schock anytime the game is mentioned. Meanwhile, Cory Isom, who lived the movie "Drumline" during his days as a student at Oklahoma, is hoping Stoops has a better game plan than Pete Carroll did three seasons ago. Big 12 fanatics in the pool, (I rank them in order: John Sullivan, Mark Hattan, Sal), here is your big game. Non-Big 12 fans, note the Texas-Oklahoma game is played at a neutral site and continue to tell them that the SEC is the better conference.
The games for Week 7 dramatically unfold below. For $800 and the Ramon Escobar Trophy, the perfect adornment next to your replica Maltese Falcon, select your winners and e-mail them back to me by 5 p.m. Friday.
