Some Auburn fans have quibbled that the release of the pigeons prior to each game is not one of college football's great traditions. But I say it's one of the best. What happens is they release the pigeons an hour or so before game time from neighboring Opelika, and the pigeons then fly to Jordan-Hare Field and do a circle around the stands, sometimes purposefully leaving their droppings on the visiting fans.
