1. Old home week ends this Saturday as Tulsa plays at RRS with Gus Mal-a-zahn calling plays against the Razorbacks that he wanted to use while he was at Arkansas. Regardless of where you stand on the whole Malzhan, Springdale, Nutt fiasco, there's no denying the blame for it all falls at the feet of one person — Frank Broyles.
Broyles, the AD at the time, never should have forced Nutt into hiring Malzahn. Sure, there'd have been an outcry if Mitch Mustain and Damien Williams packed up and left the state. But that fallout wouldn't have resulted in banners being flown over the stadium, FOIs, "Mr. Interception King" e-mails, "I called that play, brother" postgames and the laundry list of wacky things we saw during the past two seasons.
Even the most loyal HDN honks have to admit Malzahn handled himself with class throughout his brief run at Arkansas. He's never ripped Nutt nor spoken poorly about his time in Fayetteville. Every time he's asked about it, he just says some coachspeak about focusing on his current team. You might not like his offensive philosophy, but he's still a class act.
Then again, what do you expect out of a Fort Smithian?
2. I think you should not watch this video if you're squeamish. I also think whoever parked that cart there should be fired ...
3. I think Gary Danielson is crazy to say Texas is running a "junk offense." If that's a "junk offense," then what does he think of Tulsa's prolific passing attack?

4. I think the North Texas players busted for recreational drug use should get pardons. After all, if you can't smoke some weed during an 0-8 season where your offense averages 17 ppg and your defense gives up an average of 50 ppg, when can you? (Then again, maybe the drugs are causing the problems on defense?)

Magic 8 Ball Prediction
Thanks to a late TD by Arkansas, M8B missed last week's game. It promised me to try harder this week ...
Will Arkansas (+7.5) cover the spread against Tulsa?
