Nutt 3, Hogville/Wally/Beck 0

All your sad and lost apostles hum my name and flare their nostrils
Choking on the bones you toss to them
Well I'm not one to sit and spin
'Cause living well's the best revenge
Baby, I am calling you on that

Ole Miss 31, Florida 30
Jevan Snead threw two touchdown passes, ran for another score and led the Rebels to a 31-30 upset of No. 4 Florida on Saturday. It gave coach Houston Nutt a signature win in his fourth game at Ole Miss and put Florida in a hole with several tough Southeastern Conference games remaining.

Texas 52, Arkansas 10
Forget the famous rivalry. Colt McCoy and No. 7 Texas clobbered Arkansas like any other early season warmup. And when the most lopsided game between the border foes in decades was over, all Razorbacks coach Bobby Petrino could do Saturday was collapse into a chair and sigh. Hard. "That's a beating," Petrino said.

When will Hogville and all our other lousy fans, media, and Little League parents be held accountable for what they've done to Razorback football? Still predicting a 6-6 season, Biggus? Mike Irwin must have really struggled getting that Ole Miss score out of his mouth on his NWA sportscast.

Black-shirt-wearing banner-flying Hogville-posting jackass?

Please keep wearing those black shirts to games this year so I will know where to aim the eggs.

You really think Nutt would have done better against Texas or Alabama?

Please.

Nutt molds his strategy to the talent he has. That's been a key to his success throughout his career. It's why he runs a conservative ball-control offense so much of the time when he'd rather use a Cherry to Swinton or Stoerner to Lucas passing game, as he did when he had those players. Our dumb fans seem to think it would have been a good idea for Casey Dick to throw the ball a lot more last year when we had McFadden and Jones in the backfield. Our dumb fans complain that McFadden took too many snaps away from Dick last year in the Wildcat.

Meanwhile in Petrinoville, he's running his system hell or high water. It doesn't matter if that means a season or two or three of blowout losses.

I'll take the guy who was passionate about winning, passionate about his job, and passionate about being a Razorback. Boy, what a crime he committed.

The problem is Nutt wouldn't have had any talent to run his system nor any system this season. The man quit recruiting, seemingly plotting his departure from Fayetteville as far back as two seasons ago.

We are about to see what it's really like to have a football program with no talent. This is a sparsely populated state that doesn't produce the numbers needed for a Top 20 football program. The only way Petrino can solve this is to mine the junior colleges, and even then it's not a long-term solution. When Petrino has one season more successful than Nutt, you will find a crisp $20 bill arriving to your house in an envelope.

If Nutt told any player that he might not be the coach next year, a fact I find questionable, let's get some perspective on this. ISN'T THAT WHAT HE SHOULD DO?

I mean, only Arkansas fans think this is the wrong thing to do. If you are the kid, or the kid's parents, Nutt told them the truth so that they could make the best decision on a college.

Damn I have come to despise those people sitting in Razorback Stadium, calling the talk shows, and posting on the Internet.

Strike three.
