Nutt 1, Hogville/Wally/Beck 0

Arkansas 28, Western Illinois 24
"For a while, the game was reminiscent of Arkansas' season-opening loss to the Citadel in 1992. That game got coach Jack Crowe fired, and although Petrino can expect a much longer leash, the honeymoon could be brief if the Razorbacks' youngsters continue to struggle."

Ole Miss 41, Memphis 24
"It was the first time Ole Miss scored 40 points against a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent since a 43-40 win over South Carolina on Nov. 1, 2003."

You did it again, fans.

Very premature to be posting that score, Rey.

You could have just as easily posted ...

Ed Orgeron 1, Houston Nutt 0

After all, Nutt won with Ed's players while Petrino was almost beaten with Houston's.

With the sheer number of freshmen who played, this is as much Petrino's team in terms of recruits as Nutt's.

Going to be a long season on the hill. Going 2-10 might have been optimistic.

Hey you two insiders in the know, was Harry King the veteran media guy who was overheard in the press box saying that he guessed Nutt wasn't such a bad coach anyway? I don't have the patience to go through that entire thread on Hogville to see if anyone came up with the answer.

Jim Harris told somebody on that thread that it wasn't Harry.

First off, stay away from Hogville.
It will only make you stupid.
Second, I'll ask Harry in the morning, but I would doubt that it was him.
Third, given what happened in Saturday night's game, I could easily see a half dozen or so guys say sarcastically that in comparison, Nutt was starting to look good. Harris might have heard that, but didn't detect that it was printed in the sarcasm font.
The international accepted standard for the sarcasm font is Times New Roman, but in blue.
Blue is the key.
