"On a mystical note, this is the 50th anniversary of the last and only time someone named John David won the Heisman (John David Crow, 1957)."

Also the 50th year of the drought of Heisman winners from Texas A&M.

For future reference, over the past 20 or so years the only Heisman winners to come from teams with fewer than 10 wins are...

1998, Ricky Williams, Texas, 9 wins
1989, Andre Ware, Houson, 9 wins
1987, Tim Brown, Our Lady of Continual Touchdowns, 8 wins
1984, Bo Jackson, Auburn, 8 wins

"Auburn, 8 wins" -- just like this year.

Too bad for you, one of those 8 wins will be in Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

33-5 over the last 3 years.
